Fidelis, a woman’s group at Immanuel, is committed to Christian Service. Throughout the year, we are busy with projects dedicated to furthering God’s Gospel and following Christ’s example. The ladies provide a Nursery for babies and very young children during both worship services and prepare luncheons and suppers throughout the year for members and friends. We also collect donations for flowers and decorate the church for Christmas and Easter, give Christmas gifts to our Missionary families, and arrange Christmas caroling. Fidelis sends cheerful Sunshine cards and notes to shut-ins and others with a variety of needs, arrange an annual church picnic, organize special projects for charities and people in need, and treat the men to a dinner every March.
We meet on a monthly basis, usually on the fourth Thursday of each month from September to May, for wonderful fellowship and friendly support. These meetings are usually held in the evening at one of our homes or in our Fellowship Hall at the church. Two women serve as co-hostesses and another presents devotions drawn from Scriptures that relate to our lives as Christian women. There are three special meetings each year. In September there is a covered dish dinner to start off the year. In December there is a covered dish dinner and Yankee Swap where other OPC churches are invited to attend. In May, we have a spring banquet, usually in a nice restaurant.
We are an especially friendly and harmonious group, and have fun together. We welcome women from the community and friends of members to join us in our service to God through our activities.
